At EKIN, we have reaffirmed our commitment to equality and the elimination of gender-based violence with a series of educational and symbolic actions that culminated on 25 November. All EKIN plants—in the Basque Country, India, and Mexico—held a joint pause for a minute of silence, projecting our vision beyond our borders.

This mobilisation, driven by our Berdintasuna team, demonstrates that building a safe and respectful work environment is a value shared throughout our international network.

Training and Visibility: Our Awareness Week

During the week leading up to 25 November, we focused our efforts on internal training and awareness:

  • Continuous Training: Our team had access to a specific course and received daily training tips via email, ensuring that the message of prevention reached all areas.
  • Spaces for Reflection: We set up spaces for visibility and tribute:
    • In our showroom, we screened the Emakunde video and shared a piece written by the Berdintasuna team.
    • At the entrance to the floors, we installed a corkboard to pay tribute to the victims of gender violence.
    • On our computers, the screensaver featured a design created by the Berdintasuna team to represent our support for equality.

The Minute of Silence: An Act of Global Unity

The highlight of the day took place on 25 November. In an act of profound unity, all EKIN plants paused for a minute of silence in tribute to the victims:

  • The Zornotza and Lemoa headquarters did so at 2 p.m. local time.
  • The plants in India and Mexico joined the pause at their respective times, integrating the message into our international network.

25N and Our Equality Framework

The actions surrounding 25N are part of our corporate strategy, which has recently led us to become a Collaborating Entity of Emakunde and to implement our II Equality Plan. Awareness-raising and the creation of a healthy, violence-free working environment are fundamental pillars of our commitment.

We would like to thank our teams at all our plants for their commitment, demonstrating that Thinking together is the basis for building a fairer and safer society.
