At EKIN, we are taking a decisive step forward in our strategy for sustainability and environmental transparency. After successfully completing the external audit process, we have obtained the AENOR Certificate of Conformity for Carbon Footprint Calculation (GHG-0053/2026), which covers the entire value chain of the company.
This certificate guarantees that the calculation of our greenhouse gas emissions for the 2024 financial year has been carried out rigorously and in accordance with the international requirements of the GHG Protocol.
Scope and commitment
The verification carried out by AENOR covers all our areas of activity at the Amorebieta and Lemoa plants:
- The design, production and heat treatment of cutting and precision tools (broaches and racks).
- The design and assembly of broaching machines, sharpening machines and rolling machines, as well as sharpening and broaching services.
According to the verified report, total emissions generated during this period amounted to 7,794 t CO2e. Having this audited data allows us to accurately identify our impact: from direct emissions (Scope 1) to indirect emissions from energy (Scope 2, where we have achieved 0 t CO2e) and emissions from our value chain (Scope 3).
Towards a low-impact industry with a positive impact
Obtaining AENOR certification is not the end of the process, but rather the solid foundation on which EKIN will build its emission reduction plans. With this external validation, we reaffirm our commitment to decarbonisation and to an advanced industry that strives for excellence while always respecting the environment.
